Clever
e-marketing - customising your e-marketing according to subscribe
dates
Those who know
me, know me well...those who don't - need a different approach.
There's a good chance
that, on your email list, there are people who know you and
your business extremely well and are regular customers. On
the other hand, you probably also have subscribers who joined
via your website sign-up form who you have no relationship
with, other than they joined your list - maybe they arrived
via Google or through a referral.
Do you sell differently
to the customers you've had on board for a long time compared
to those who have just started enquiring about our browsing
your products?
Don't you think you should be considering their different
outlooks on your business when publishing your e-marketing?
Consider the following aspects with your e-newsletters, e-invites
and news alert emails:
- A blurb
about who you are, what you do, could be useful for new
subscribers, but those who have been on your list for longer
than 5 months, probably don't need this.
- You may have
had a major product launch a month ago and let your subscribers
know about it. What about the subscribers who have joined
since that time? How do you ensure they are also aware without
being too repetitive to your longer-term subscribers?
- You put a
lot of work into some articles for your enewsletter, that
you want to use them again, but you don't want to bore those
who have already received it, but you could get some mileage
out of them with newer subscribers.
Customise you e-marketing
depending on the date they joined.
Does this sound like a lot of work? Well it's not. And, if
you could target your content and advertising better, wouldn't
you want to do that? It can be as simple as including (or
not including) a particular article or advertisement.
You don't have do this with every email, and you can create
and delete any groupings for just one-off emailouts.
1) Simply create your enewsletter with one group in mind.
2) Select the appropriate joining dates, group them and send
it!
3) Simply add/delete appropriate information from the enewsletter
for your more recent subscribers.
4) Select the appropriate joining dates, group them and send
it!
Another feature of V Message
- search by subscribe / unsubscribe dates
You can track and compare
the 'open's and 'click-throughs' for these two groups too.
You can segment your emailouts depending on any groups you
want to create or questions you ask on the 'opt-in' form.
So you could even, for example, send a customised email to
your 'NSW' list who subscribed since November 8 2005 and answered
'yes' to a particular survey question - Now that is targeted!
V
Message has an 'Email
Series' capability where you can set up a series of emails
to be set up from the date someone subscribed. That way you
can know that everyone who joins will receive, for example,
some useful information from 5 days after they subscribed,
and then something more sales focused say 15 days after they
subscribed. That way, working on building your relationship
and getting your products and services in front of them in
that crucial period of them showing interest in joining your
list.
e-Marketing allows for
greater customisation, personalisation and targeting. Ensure
